This park was acquired from the Federal Government in 1964 at no cost.
Historical Background
The island was named by the 1841 Wilkes Expedition honoring John Clark, a midshipman
killed in Perry's Battle of Lake Erie.
Facilities
8 campsites, 2 picnic sites with fire rings, 9 moorage buoys, 2 vault toilets, 1
storage building, and 1 bulletin board. The island has no drinking water, and park
visitors remove their own garbage.
Activities
Primitive camping, picnicking, saltwater fishing, hiking, scuba diving and clam
digging.
